A New York City Christmas: Red Velvet Blazer At Grand Central

Are you sensing a theme this week with my outfits? Notice all of the velvet?

Yes, there’s definitely a theme going on around Pink Champagne Problems…and it’s velvet! This red velvet blazer is just perfect!

I’m very much into all things velvet this year, and you”ll definitely be seeing more of it around here. It’s everywhere and the pieces are SO cute, like this red velvet blazer.

Right now, Old Navy has an amazing selection of velvet pieces – like this blazer. As soon as I walked into the store, I couldn’t help myself. I immediately gravitated towards this velvet blazer. The color was just perfect for the holidays and I knew it needed to come home with me. Not only did I love the color, but I couldn’t love the price tag any more!

I wore this red velvet blazer look for an afternoon lunch and decided to stop by one of my favorite (and most iconic) places in New York City: Grand Central. This place is truly something special. Everyone is always go, go, go (including myself most of the time), but if you take a second to stop, you see so much. There’s SO many people there for so many different reasons: Traveling, commuting, eating, shopping, photographing, and more. I’m typically ALWAYS in a rush when I’m in Grand Central, but this time was different. I loved taking a look at the cute holiday decorations, and soaking up the people watching time. I always love wondering what people are doing here or where they’re off to. The Metro North goes to SO many different places. It’s actually one of my favorite modes of transportation (and how I get to Matt’s parent’s house and my cousins’ house). I love seeing people with their phones out, taking photos of the iconic interior. It makes me so happy that I get to live in this city — the city where people flock to just to snap these types of photos. It’s always a “pinch me” moment.

Grand Central also happens to be the setting for one of the best scenes from Friends With Benefits (with my love Justin Timberlake). Every single time I’m in Grand Central, Semisonic’s “Closing Time” pops into my head. And then I’m singing it for the rest of the day;) You know what I’m talking about, right?!

These photos are some of my favorites ever because they’re the epitome of New York City: Busy streets, iconic buildings, yellow cabs, and everything I love about this city.
