Thanksgiving Outfit For Those Who Want To Get Dressed On Thanksgiving

Every year I have the same struggle: What do I wear on Thanksgiving?

But seriously. It’s such a struggle to decide whether or not I should go for the comfort route or the dressier route. But after putting together this look, I realized it might not be such a hard decision to make after all.

THANKSGIVING OUTFIT | top, skirt, boots (updated version), kate spade bag (similar here and here), sunglasses

I totally understand why most people want to be comfortable on Thanksgiving. I mean, hello, we have to take our post-appetizer, pre-dinner nap. And I know I’d definitely want to be in something cozy to take that nap in.

BUT…there are exceptions.

Now that I’m older and wiser (lol), I realized that I do like putting together a Thanksgiving outfit. I think a Thanksgiving outfit is like a farewell to fall and a hello to winter. Right? I mean it’s a holiday, you have an excuse to dress up, and it’s the best time to wear fall colors. So duh, now it’s kind of a no brainer!

I wanted to share this skirt for a few reasons: 1. It’s insanely comfortable and soft, and 2. It’s on major sale right now. I also wanted to share this outfit as documentation that I tried something new. For some reason, I never thought I’d be able to pull off a knee-length skirt with tall boots. But when I wore this outfit to work one day, I got so many compliments!

And this top? ALSO on major sale. I love the sheer aspect to it with the big swiss dots throughout. I just LOVED how well these two pieces went together (they’re from the same store, so duh). It felt like a true fall look, and an even better Thanksgiving outfit.

I’m keeping this short, sweet, and to the point today, since I’m SUPER, CRAZY, INSANELY busy with work. I also needed to pack for the next five days in Westchester (read more about my family tradition for Thanksgiving), work on a few blog projects, AND pick up my new Canada Goose jacket.

But if you are reading this before Thanksgiving, I just wanted to wish you and your family a very, very happy Thanksgiving. I hope it’s filled with tons of good food and even better company.

Starting Friday, I’m kicking off true holiday content — starting with Black Friday!
